1999 Corvette Run and Drive Donor Go Kart
As many of you out there already know, we here at Cleveland Power and Performance love offer our Corvette drive-lines in a number of unique and interesting ways. Check out this blog to see a 1999 Corvette Run and Drive Donor Go Kart come to life. This donor has 65k miles on it ans features an auto transmission.
Over the years we have done a ton of these Corvette Go Karts and customers all over the world have purchased them for their custom builds. We have seen these donor in everything from kit cars to first gen f-body builds.
These Corvette donors start off as wrecked cars that we bring in from salvage auctions. If the car has minimal or no frame damage than it is the perfect candidate for a donor. Here are some pictures of the 99 Vette as it arrived here at our facility.
When we got the car in we racked it on a lift to inspect the frame and suspension and we drained the fluids to inspect for contamination. All of the fluids checked out good and the frame was in decent shape so we decided to proceed with this Vette as a donor.
The donor/go kart process begins when we pull all of the exterior fiberglass off the car. The idea is to leave the essentials to build a “go fast” car.
On this particular car, a few area needed a little work to bring it up to our standards for sale. The seats were in poor condition and were removed to be rebuilt to insure that all functions worked properly.
Also, the front bumper bar had some dings and dent in it so it was removed and we welded an undamaged on onto the frame in its place.
Once the car has interior has been installed, the fluids have all been freshened up and the car has been clean she is ready for final pictures and to be offered for sale. Here are some pictures of the final product.
This donor is currently available for sale. Please give us a call at 866-236-5031 with any questions or comments.

2005 Dodge Viper Clean Title Run and Drive donor Car
Follow our blog to see this 2005 Dodge Viper Clean Title Run and Drive donor Car come to life. Like we do with all of our builds, we will post start to finish photos of this Dodge Viper go kart.
As you can see from the photos below, we received this viper with damage to several of the body panels. We start our donor builds by removing all of the body panels and accessing the damage to the frame, drive line, and suspension. This Viper came in to us with a clean title that reads as actual mileage. This Viper is a limited production Mamba edition, which included an upgraded interior package.
We put this car on the lift and stripped off of the body panels and removed the interior. At this point we inspect all of the suspension and floor pan areas. We also drain all of the fluids to inspect for contamination.
We noticed that the left hand front rail was pushed over in the accident, so we decided to put this Viper on our frame machine to pull the rail back in to place
We pulled the rail back in to place verified that all of the suspension components lined up and are in place.
Please follow our blog to see the next steps, and the conclusion of this build. This 2005 Dodge Viper Clean Title Run and Drive donor Car will be finished and offered for sale very soon. 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Salvage Donor
Over the years, we at Cleveland Power and Performance, have transformed many wrecked vehicles into running and driving go-karts for use in resto-mods and custom builds. Follow this blog to see how we turned this lightly burnt car into the prefect platform for any Mopar enthusiast’s project, a 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Salvage Donor. We have seen our Viper donors used in some very wild applications. They have proven to be pretty versatile chassis’ for some of the coolest builds we have seen. Many of these Viper donors also end up on other continents, burning rubber abroad.
We start each and every donor build by striping away of the unnecessary clutter to see what we have to work with. On this viper, all of the body panels and exterior components were removed to reveal the heart and sole of the vehicle. We then remove the drive train to send to our engine room for inspection. The engine and transmission were inspected for any damage. Both were signed off on by our highly trained technicians.
We check all of the suspension components to make sure they are true and straight and replace any parts that are damaged. We do the same with any electronics and wiring that need repaired. On this particular Viper we replaced the left hand front suspension components due to fire damage. We also repaired some harness that was lightly burnt from the fire. The outer cowl, dash, air-box, and several other interior components were also replaced. We ordered and programmed a new engine computer and replaced the radiator with a brand new unit.
Please stayed tuned to our blog for the conclusion of this 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Salvage Donor build! The car should be running and driving in no time at all. Once she is done, she will be offered for sale so let us know if this donor might work in your project.
Cleveland Pick A Part Becomes Cleveland Power and Performance
Cleveland Pick A Part to Cleveland Power & Performance: The New Era Begins
Welcome to Cleveland Power & Performance! We would like to formally introduce you to our new website and our new company name. For almost 30 years, Cleveland Pick A Part has been a growing force in auto parts and high-performance vehicle rebuilds. Now, as we move into 2015 and beyond, we are introducing a new name, new focus and a new level of advanced capabilities.
We have been upgrading the foundation of our business structure to better serve our customers and more nimbly adapt to the fast-changing world of high-end, performance vehicles. We felt the best way to move forward was to concentrate specifically on two distinct areas: 1. high-performance vehicle parts, and 2. performance vehicle rebuilds, including rebuildables, restomod projects and custom builds. We have invested substantial resources into becoming North America’s premier provider in these areas, and we invite you to check out some of our current offerings on our Parts for Sale and Cars for Sale pages, or read more about our specialized offerings.
Longtime customers who have visited our shop over the years have seen how our company has grown. Since our humble beginnings in 1986, when we worked out of a trailer with an outhouse next to it, we have grown into a complete office building and sales area, more than 140,000 square feet of warehouse space, a service and dismantling area with 12 in-ground lifts, a dedicated onsite shipping area, and more than 29 acres of prime Ohio real estate for outdoor vehicle storage. We have posted some pictures on the new website that show the transition.
The original Cleveland Pick A Part started as a scrap yard in 1986. Over the years, we relied heavily on our insurance work, dealing directly with body shops and other local salvage yards. As the business grew and our capabilities grew more robust, we evolved into a specialist in late-model, high-performance vehicles. In fact, about a year ago, we made a decision to discontinue our parts supply of daily driving cars and concentrate more acutely on those high-performance cars and trucks, with a particular focus on high-performance drivelines. As we’ve made these changes, the Cleveland Pick A Part name that served us so well for so many years has become less representative of our current scope of work. And so Cleveland Power & Performance was born!
Going forward, Cleveland Power & Performance will continue to invest in our late-model parts supply, but we will also be shifting the attention from the “old school boneyard” to the sophisticated resto-mod capabilities of our own, on-premises, custom-build shop. We already supply drivelines and other parts to custom-build shops around the country and the world. Now we will be offering more of those custom-build services right here, with premium parts that are sourced, refurbished, tested and installed by our own highly trained professionals.
Perhaps most important through all of these exciting changes are the things that will remain constant at our business. Our family-owned-and-operated business has been under the same ownership and management since 1986, and that will continue. We are also maintaining all of the current employees, the same approach to excellent customer service, and the same emphasis on quality that has helped us grow into one of the largest late-model, high-performance vehicle parts providers in North America.
After the new year we will be going over changes on the website, and highlighting some of the new features that we’ve put in place to make our customers’ lives easier. We appreciate your feedback on the new site as well. Please, feel free to send us a message or call us (866-236-5031) to tell us what you think.
From the owners of Cleveland Power & Performance, welcome to the new era!
